Infrared (IR) remote cum sound operated fan regulator for multiple fan appliances

Overview

The present invention relates to a device for remotely controlling multiple fan appliances using infrared (IR) remote and/or sound signals based on digital pulse processing of IR signals/ and or sound signals to switch the fan on/ off the fan and to change the speed of the fan. The device comprises an IR module; an IR to sound signal converter; sound to digital pulse converter; digital pulse counter; load control circuit and audio/visual indicator to denote the state of fan. The device is preferably installed in parallel to the mechanical regulator of each fan so that the fan can also be controlled manually and is operated from a range of 20-25 meters when using IR remote and from 2-3 meters when operated through sound signals.
