A method and formulation comprising Pseudomonas simiae (MTCC-12057) for promoting plant growth under salt stress

The present invention related to a novel method and formulation comprising Pseudomonas simiae strain AU (MTCC-12057) for improving the root colonization and growth of legume plants such as but not limited to Glycine max, Vigna radiata, Vigna aconitifolia, Cyamopsis tetragonoloba or seed under salt stress. The formulation is prepared by mixing molasses (w/v) and carboxy methyl cellulose (CMC) (w/v) which is treated with sodium nitroprusside (SNP) prepared in artificial sea water (ASW) followed by mixing of Pseudomonas simiae strain AU (MTCC-12057) in the slurry. The product is shade dried to reduce the moisture content (~30%) and then coated with seed.
