A novel graphite oxide based non enzymatic cholesterol sensor

Overview

The present invention relates to a novel non-enzymatic cholesterol sensor using functionalized nano-graphite oxide as active electrode. The nano-graphite is prepared by the modified Hummer’s method and functionalized chemically by hydroxyl and carboxyl functional group using thermal embedding fabrication technique which results in the development of low cost, flexible and highly sensitive electrode. The fabricated working electrode shows a linear relationship from 50 – 500 mg/dl between cholesterol concentration and the output signal.
