Overview
The present invention relates to nanocellulose and silver nanoparticle embedded pebbles based water purification system for complete removal of dyes, heavy metals such as but not limited to Cr (III), Pb (II) and Cd (II) and microbial load from waste water. The nanocellulose and silver nanoparticle embedded pebbles based composite material is used as a water filter in a column to provide a simple, low cost and an alternative environment friendly method for decontamination of waste water.The composite can be reused upto five cycles after thoroughly washing it with a solution of pH 2.
