Overview
The present invention relates to a novel self-sustaining energy generation unit comprising a steam generator and a paper battery. The steam generator comprises water suspended carbon nanoparticles, which show plasmonic heating when excited with focused light of visible spectrum due to which water surrounding nanoparticles get heated up locally, to produce instantaneous steam in non-equilibrium process. Steam thus produced by this plasmonic heating is supplied to humidify carbon-silver nanoparticles based paper battery to light up an LED for approximately 150 hours.
