Overview
The present invention provides a bioactive fraction isolated from the hexane extract of Datura metel leaves to inhibit the growth of Helicobacter pylori, pathogenic bacterium. The present invention also provides a process for the isolation of the bioactive compound. The isolated bioactive fraction that contains high amount of flavanoid is identified as quercetin showing activity against Helicobacter pylori.
