Very sensitive humidity sensor based on conducting polymer nano-composite

Overview

The present invention provides a humidity sensor device and a method of manufacturing the same are provided. The humidity sensor includes a substrate having two films of pure conducting polymer and a polymer nano-composite. The nano-composite film consisting of activated carbon nanotube/ conducting polymer in weight ratio of 0.04-30. A pair of electrodes is used to take the connections from both the sensing materials. The resistance of nano-composite element follows the reverse trend in comparison to pure conducting polymer film with increasing humidity. The combining effect of both polymer and polymer nano-composite films can increase the sensitivity of the humidity sensor.
